Pneumatic actuated buttefly valves consist of a pneumatic actuator and a butterfly valve. The basic working principle of a pneumatic valve is that compressed air enters the pneumatic actuator to drive the piston, and then the rotating torsion shaft drives the stem.

The main advantages of a pneumatic actuator operated butterfly valve are simple structure, compact size, light weight, and low cost.
